MPorium’s Grand Opening

With a new school year underway, MPorium at Marist is back with a new theme just in time to make us feel right at home.

This semester’s theme, “it’s good to be home.” was unveiled on Sept. 27 centering around the idea that Marist College is our home away from home. The warm and cozy aesthetic of this year’s theme attracts students to come shop and check out the products that MPorium has to offer.

“The theme focuses on inclusion and making everyone feel welcome and at home where you will have the best years of your life,” said faculty director of MPorium Professor Rebecca Brown. “I look forward to receiving great new products across all categories to entice our guests to purchase and feel good about themselves and at home.”

MPorium is a student-run boutique that operates due to the hard work and dedication of students enrolled in Retail Entrepreneurship. Each year, MPorium displays a new theme with products that relate to it. The theme of the spring 2022 season was entitled, “Take A Chance,” which displayed new aspects of the store and a very bold feel. Taking a different route this year, MPorium’s theme is called “it’s good to be home.”

“When I toured Marist last year I remember looking through MPorium and seeing bright and vibrant colors. I love that last year’s theme and the ‘it’s good to be home.’ themes are so different, yet both executed perfectly,” said Abbey Soutar ‘26.

The long-awaited grand opening for the fall 2022 season had many students shopping on the first day. Katie Marrin ‘26 said, “I love that the store has a comfortable and homely feel to it while also featuring trendy products. I think the use of neutrals is really effective too.”

MPorium offers opportunities for students interested in retail and fashion and provides a loveable boutique for students to shop. The products at MPorium range from Marist apparel, to skin care products, to jewelry and everything in between.
